"Prior to working with Douglas I studied
with celebrated master teachers
Eddie Sayegh in LA and Richard
Nickol in San Francisco.

As well as developing his own techniques, Doug uses
many of those developed by
these master teachers, so
working with him has been a natural
progression for me.

Without a doubt I learned more from
Douglas than with previous instructors.
He is meticulous in his instruction, and
very clear about the 'how and the
why' of his technique.

My singing has improved at a rapid
pace, it's undoubtedly due to Doug's
knowledge, patience, and dedication to
teaching.

I would advise anyone, at any
level, to work with Douglas!"

I’m a seasoned cabaret singer and lifelong vocalist, based on the west coast. I have studied voice in high school, at UC San Diego (where I minored in music) and with the best voice teachers in San Diego and Los Angeles.

I studied opera, art song, musical theatre and cabaret. Money was no object: I wanted the best. I learned how to sing properly but there was always something missing.

No matter what technique I was taught or what exercises I practiced, I found it nearly impossible to translate the esoteric lessons to the real world of singing on stage.

I had difficulty with my passagio and even my belt. As an alto, these can be tricky. It wasn’t until I worked with the phenomenal Douglas Graham that I began to make enormous progress. With his technique and exercises I was able to strengthen my instrument without straining it and develop my passagio and extend my upper range. Additionally, he taught me a healthy way to extend my lower range and even my belt has improved.

Douglas is intuitive and very innovative. He does not have a cookie cutter approach. Each lesson is in the moment, custom made to your exact place in time, contoured to your goals and aspirations.

Douglas makes it fun to explore acting choices in songs, as well as the technical aspects of breathing and phrasing. He is the total package! I am very excited with my results! It means the world to me to finally have access to the things I learn while being coached, applying these added tools to my performances of the songs I so love to sing.

Count on Douglas to inspire and uplift, which all teachers should do, but he will deliver the key results you seek! You won’t have just a jewelry box “moment” while rehearsing, that doesn’t translate to your actual performance.

Douglas is not only the best voice teacher I’ve ever had, he’s my favorite. Do your voice a favor and check Douglas Graham out!

Sincerely, Gina Zollman
